Maple Pecan Bacon Baked Brie

This indulgent appetizer combines gooey creamy brie, smoky bacon, crunchy pecans, and the sweetness of maple syrup, making the perfect balance of flavours!

Ingredients:

  • 170g (6 oz) brie wheel
  • 4 oz bacon, diced
  • 1 oz pecan pieces
  • 1 oz maple syrup
  • Baguette, sliced
  • Olive oil (for drizzling)

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Bacon-Pecan Topping:

    • In a pan over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until about ¾ done.
    • Drain the fat from the pan, then add the pecan pieces. Toast the pecans with the bacon, stirring constantly.
    • Once the bacon is crispy and the pecans are slightly toasted, stir in the maple syrup.
    • Remove from heat and toss to fully coat the bacon and nuts. Set aside.
  2. Bake the Brie:

    • Score the top of the brie wheel and place it in a brie baker or an oven-safe dish.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the brie is soft and gooey.
  3. Prepare the Baguette:

    • Lay the sliced baguette on a sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil.
    • Toast in the oven, until lightly toasted.
  4. Assemble and Serve:

    • Remove the brie from the oven and top it with the maple bacon pecan mixture.
    • Serve immediately with the toasted baguette slices.
