French Toast Bake


An easy french toast bake that is perfect for everyone! A caramelized top and a soft, creamy interior, it is the perfect brunch addition to indulge into!


Ingredients:

Dipping Mixture:

  • Loaf of Sourdough bread, cut into sticks (or your favourite type of bread)

  • 3 eggs

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Custard:

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 cups 35% cream

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Toppings:

  • Butter (for topping)

  • Maple syrup (for drizzling)

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Dipping Mixture:

    • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon.

  3. Dip the Bread:

    • Dip each sourdough stick into the mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.

    • Arrange the dipped bread pieces into a baking dish.

  4. Prepare the Custard:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, sugar, and cinnamon.

  5. Assemble the Casserole:

    • Pour the custard evenly over the arranged bread sticks, ensuring all pieces are well soaked. 

  6. Bake:

    • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45–60 minutes, or until the custard is fully set and the top is golden brown.

  7. Finish with Toppings:

    • Remove from the oven and top with small pieces of butter.

    • Drizzle generously with maple syrup before serving.
