Onion Dip
Ingredients:
10 oz onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp water
1 lb cream cheese (two 250g blocks), softened
4 oz sour cream
4 oz heavy cream (35%)
Oil, for sautéing
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
Caramelize the Onions:
In a skillet over low heat, add a little oil and sauté the onions until they’re fully cooked and caramelized, stirring occasionally (this may take around 20-25 minutes).
Add the brown sugar and water, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the water evaporates.
Remove from heat and set the onions aside to cool completely.
Blend the Dip:
In a food processor, add the cooled, caramelized onions and pulse briefly.
Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and heavy cream.
Pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Serve:
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Serve with chips, crackers, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.
